I have a dell 926 printer and when I try to print out something in black it won't?
It's a color printer but I can copy things fine but if you try to print from notepad or something it just comes out as a blank paper, what could be the problem? I have tried everything even putting in a new ink cartridge and making sure the tape is off of the cartridge. Never had this problem and also my printer is not paused and says ready. What else could I try?

Thanks for your help, I took the ink cartridge back to where I got it from and exchanged it for another and now it works fabulous but thank you all very much!!!!
I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling your printer driver. The fact that it behaves differently based on where your printing from suggests to me that you have a software problem (ie driver) not a hardware problem (ie the ink cartridge).
