How a Laser Printer Works?
In the development of computer accessories, Laser printers have definitely proven as an optimistic. Try to think back to the original dot matrix printers and you'll realize how far we've come so that now with laser printers we can easily and quickly create images far clearer than anything we've seen before.
How does a laser printer function? Most people have not thought about it but once they realise they will wonder how it is so popular. The following is a quick peek for people with curiosity about such things:
The laser printer basically works because of an electric charge that creates static electricity. The main point is that insulated objects store electric charges. A laser printer will work with electrons as a form of glue that is uses to operate a photoreceptor. Photo receptor rotates in the use of photo conductive which produce light photons. These will then use light photos to discharge imagery.
The printer has a drum which allows a positive charge. Includes inwire which carries power The drum is then put int motion so that it revolves and shines a thin beam of laser light on the sheet of paper. Obviously, this will play a huge role in the transferring of the image onto the paper. The craft will lead to works processing. Basically, this is done to discharge an electrostatic image which aids in developing the image. 'Aid' in the process, is actually does more than. It makes the entire process possible.
Specifically, it will create the pattern that will be 'painted' with a charged toner that carries through the drum. Of course it seems like a complicated process, but once you're actually using it's a very simple matter to efficiently get good, clear results.
In order for all of this to occur, the paper needs to carry through the printer. A fuser which rolls the paper in the printer. It is understood that, if not for the paper carried through the printer, the laser printer would not be of any use. There's also a discharge lamp to assist the regulating of the electrical images so that a higher quality print is made.
There is the very simple component for laser printer. That's the job of a printer controller. A controller manages and coordinates all the features a printer offers. Briefly, it's the controller's job to manage the many specific functions of the printer.
Laser printers are definitely the most valuable items you can purchase for your home or office computer. Consider the laser printer scanner website if you don't want to settle for another kind of printer that will be of inferior quality.
What should i need to know before i buy a laser printer to replace my inkjet?
iv had enough with the expensive ink replacement procedures with my HP officejet, so i am eyeing a replacement, a laser one
i plan on getting this printer:
This printer already comes with a temporary ink supply, providing 1,000 printed pages.
When i need more ink, i will need to buy the Brother Laser Toner Drum Unit (DR-360), which costs $140, and this will provide 12,000 pages

Is this a good deal? What other maintenance and expenses should i be aware of with laser printers?
thanks for any feedback

You need to understand your needs.
When I got my laser printer I looked at what I was mostly printing and it was black text 90% of the time. As a result, I got a monochrome, b & w so to speak, laser printer. That reduced a lot of the cost in buying a laser printer as there is no color with monochrome laser printers.
I looked at whether I really need it too. I determined I do. I will be printing stuff for school, university school work. I will be printing a thesis, professional university level papers, etc.. and I need to use all I can to make my papers look as professional as I can.
In addition, I looked at what I will spend for toner with this printer vs. the inkjet I already had. I found out that I can get compatible toner and do not have to buy the toner specifically from the manufacture. That makes the toner much cheaper. In the end, the price for the toner came out to be less then what I was spending for ink with my inkjet.
Lastly, you need to make sure that the toner and drum are not one thing; meaning, you have to buy a new drum every time you buy new toner. To be honest, I did not look at that when I was looking for a laser printer, but I did get lucky and ended up getting a printer that did not have that.
With the printer I have the toner can be replaced without replacing the drum. I can though, only replace the toner 4 or 5 times before the drum needs replacing. Nonetheless, I do not have to replace the drum each and every time and that significantly reduces cost.
Make sure too, that any laser printer you get, if you determine you really do need one, can print 23 pages per minute or better and can print at a resolution of 600 x1,200dpi or better on the maximum resolution settings for the printer. You may not need that high of a resolution but it is nice to have if you ever do need it.
