I know it sounds weird why I'd want to take a compressed dvd and reconvert it back to it's full 4GB larger file, however I don't like burning a downloaded 700mb avi file to an open 4GB blank dvd. It may not seem like a waste of space when I burn multiple avi movies on a disc, but one movie seems like a waste of layer.
even if you had the software that allows you to transcode that file back into a .vob file this is something you wouldnt want to do. your file has been compressed and most likely resized also. if you change it back to its original resolution it will look horrible because those bits of info have been stripped away. well that's the simplified explanation anyway
