Is A High-Definition TV Really Necessary?
Are you in the market for a new TV? If so you may be considering an HD television, but is it really worth the extra cost? Well, HD is the way all media is going so getting yourself an HDTV is definitely a good choice. You could just buy a new TV that is not in HD, but that stock is dwindling and priced cheap for a reason, not to mention you may find yourself needing a new TV again in a few short years as the technology progresses. If you can not afford a HDTV right now just hang on to your old television while you save up the money. It will be worth it in the end. HDTV is not really a luxury to waste money on any more. Look around the electronics area of your local department store, it is full of HDTVs isn't it? HDTV is no longer the TV of tomorrow, tomorrow is already here! There is no escaping it, HD has taken over. Like VHS and cassette tapes, analog, standard definition TV is becoming a thing of the past. It is inevitable that the entire television and film industries are going to move into all HD. These films and TV shows will not look so great on a standard definition TV, and before long HD is going to be the standard. So now you may be wondering what sort of HD TV you should buy. Price is definitely a factor but HDTVs do come in different flavors. If you want the absolute best HD picture possible you are probably going to want to pick up a Plasma HDTV, however these are also the most expensive televisions on the market. LCD HDTVs are more affordable, and they have a pretty good picture themselves with a wide rage of sizes available to suit any home.

How do I transfer all the music on my cassette tapes to my computer?
I have hundreds of cassette tapes with great mixes I recorded when I was a DJ at my college radio station. How do I transfer this music to my computer? HELP!!!
Put simply, you will need to connect your cassette player to your PC soundcard, then play the cassette whilst recording on your PC. A step-by-step guide is available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/DIY/index.php
(follow the link to ‘Cassette to CD‘)
The recording software is the key, there are some free software downloads available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.php
I have used ‘Magix Audio Cleaning Lab’ and ‘Audacity’ – Audacity is particularly popular since it is free!
If you record to WAV format, expect file sizes of around 10MB per minute, or 1MB per minute for MP3 (at 128kbps).
Once you have your digital versions of the recording on your PC, simply burn them on to a CD (Nero burning software or similar..). If you use Magix Audio Cleaning, the software will burn an audio CD for you without needing additional software (assuming you have a CD writing drive of course!)
You will need the additional 'lame_enc.dll' file to export into MP3 - this can also be downloaded from the free software page.
You can also download a free PDF version of the step-by–step guide from the download page mentioned above, the guide is complete with diagrams and screen-shots.
Hope this helps (if you like the online guide, don't forget to 'DIGG' it....)
Nostalgia Fact-Check: How Does Felicity Hold Up? (New York Magazine)
_The Nostalgia Fact-Check is a recurring Vulture feature in which we revisit a
seminal movie, TV show, or album that reflexively evinces an "Oh my God, that
was the best ever!" response by a certain demographic, owing to it having been
imprinted on them early. Now, years later, we will take a look at these
classics in a more objective, unforgiving adult light: Are they really the
best ever? How do they hold up now? We've already reconsidered a number of
once-beloved entertainments. This week, __we consider the WB's _Felicity_._
**Background:** _Felicity_ debuted in September 1998 as part of the WB's self-
aware teen soap lineup. Created by a then-unknown J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves,
it starred a then-unknown Keri Russell as Felicity Porter -- a girl, who, in
pursuit of her high school crush, the crinkle-eyed Ben Covington (Scott
Speedman), abandoned Stanford and pre-med and enrolled in college in New York.
Set at the fictional University of New York, the show tagged along with a
group of friends through the vicissitudes of college. Her motley crew
initially consisted of the pint-size Julie (former Power Ranger Amy Jo
Johnson), her sensitive best friend; Megan Rotundi ...
